Potting our seedlings

At garden club on Thursday we took the seedlings from the propagator and transferred them to pots. A tricky job but everyone managed.

Caring for our trees

On Wednesday a group of year six went out to try and finish some jobs. Two children put some mypex down and then bark chips. My star of the day was Ms Maye who stuck with the job and finished it.

Learning to prune

Today we did some winter pruning. Using the secateurs we removed the unwanted branches. This will help the tree grow stronger and keep a good shape.
After that we dug up the sprout plants and put them in the compost.

The enormous pumpkin

The enormous pumpkin was finally cut open today. Kim and a group of year six made delicious soup and an incredible pumpkin cake (everyone said so). The local parishioners and some parents came to have a taste. Thanks Kim.

Tidy up time!

Year 5 did a fantastic job of clearing a corner of the garden. They uprooted weeds and nettles before laying mypex to cover the ground.
